Welcome to day 2 of this delicious live blog. The computing team on TechRadar admirably helped thousands of people buy a new laptop yesterday, and I’m spearheading the efforts to do the same on the second day of Prime Day.

Yes, I agree. Why is it still called Prime Day when it’s now more like 72 hours?

Grab a Microsoft Surface Pro X for just £669

We covered this over on our main Prime Day deals live blog, but it’s such a weird one that I thought that it should come in here too.

Also, it’s the only deal that’s gone live on a laptop today, so I thought it was probably worth sharing – although do spot that Surface Pro X does come with a Qualcomm chipset.

Note that this doesn’t come with the Signature Keyboard, so you will need to buy that separately (and it’s down to £104 in the Prime Day sales) – but this laptop / tablet is designed to pack smartphone-like battery, and we spotted it manages around 9 hours in testing.

The new Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro is already on sale for $1,050 at Amazon

If you’ve got some cash to sling around this Amazon Prime Day, take a look at this. Samsung only launched the Galaxy Book2 Pro a few months ago, and it’s already $300 off for its cheapest price ever.

As I noted in my review, this Windows 11 laptop offers top-tier performance in a super-thin package thanks to its 12th-gen ‘Alder Lake’ Intel i7 CPU and 16GB of RAM. The display is also a huge plus; a minuscule bezel and bright AMOLED panel make colors amazingly vibrant. If you’ve got a Samsung Galaxy phone (or any other Galaxy product), you can take advantage of the ‘Galaxy Ecosystem’ features to smoothy synchronize your devices.

One for our UK readers, now – this isn’t a Prime Day deal, but Very.co.uk has a decent discount on the 2020 M1 model of the MacBook Air right now, if you’re in the market for a good-value Apple laptop. The M1 chip is a veritable powerhouse, making MacOS run buttery-smooth and blasting through demanding workloads.

There are a few models available so the exact discounts vary, but you can save as much as £104 here – and if you take advantage of Very’s buy-now-pay-later scheme you can snag an extra 10% cash back once you’ve paid it off, increasing your savings.

MSI makes a lot of great laptops with some solid deals right now, but we wanted to highlight this Prestige 14, on sale for UK Prime Day today. It’s an ideal multipurpose laptop for students or professionals thanks to its RTX graphics card and 512GB of storage.

This is the laptop to buy if you want to do everything: office work, content creation, project design, web browsing, gaming, the lot. As an added bonus, Windows 11 and Microsoft Office 365 come bundled with the MSI Prestige 14, so you can get started with work or play straight out of the box.

The Asus VivoBook S14 lives up to its name, with a 1080p display that offers impressively vivid color reproduction and deep, sharp blacks. Both the ‘Dreamy White’ and ‘Indie Black’ models are available for $560 this Prime Day, officially the cheapest price it’s ever sold for.

A thin-and-light laptop with a long battery life and solid all-rounder performance thanks to its Intel Core i5 processor, the VivoBook S14 is an easy recommendation. This one is actually a Windows 10 laptop, if you’re not ready to move on to Microsoft’s newer OS just yet, but you can grab a free Windows 11 upgrade whenever you want.

Acer Predator Triton 500 SE at its lowest price ever on Amazon today

Make no mistake – at, $2,550 (down from $3,000) this is still a seriously expensive gaming laptop, even with a few hundred bucks knocked off the price. But you get what you pay for, and the Acer Predator Triton 500 Special Edition is a thinned-down version of Acer’s already-mighty Triton 500 that doesn’t sacrifice a drop of power.

So we’ve got the latest Intel Core i9 14-core processor, a super-powerful RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, and 32GB of RAM driving top-notch gaming performance on the 1600p display. This is an extreme laptop for gamers and content creators who want to spare no expense for the best hardware money can buy.

From the stupidly expensive to the stupidly cheap, the Asus VivoBook Go 12 is down to just $170 for Amazon Prime Day – an $80 discount, the cheapest this tiny laptop has ever been sold.

Sure, it’s a far cry from powerful creator laptops, but if all you need is a compact laptop for answering emails and making video calls, the VivoBook Go 12 can handle that. Considering it’s the price of a budget Chromebook right now, this is the perfect choice for someone who wants a bargain laptop but doesn’t want to learn how to use a new operating system. Windows users rejoice!
