Showing more salty Game of Thrones spirit, last week’s “King of the Narrow Sea” was replete with stinging barbs and curse words, flashes of violence, and lots of beautiful bonking. This was House of the Dragon: The Joy of Sex Edition.
After weeks spent vetting age-inappropriate suitors, Rhaenyra got it on with Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) following a teasingly slow removal of boots and chain mail. But, only moments before, she’d snuck out to enjoy King’s Landing’s seedy sights, where she shared an ill-advised but passionate snog with Prince Daemon.
Ser Otto quickly learnt of the news and informed Viserys. But, wary of Otto’s motives, he gave his hand the boot. Then and there her father insisted that Rhaenyra would marry Ser Laenor Velaryon, and quash any further controversy.
So…there will be a wedding (though hopefully not of the red kind) and more political wrangling as the fallen Ser Otto commands a shaken Alicent to “Prepare Aegon to rule”.
