In the Southlands, Sauron’s devious schemes were revealed when Arondir awoke among a horde of taunting orcs – brilliantly beastly in both manner and design. Alongside fellow elves Médhor and Revion, he was put to work constructing what is likely to become that desolate hellscape known as Mordor.
Elsewhere, Galadriel and Halbrand were pulled from the Sundering Seas by Elendil (Lloyd Owen) and escorted to the kingdom of Númenor. The elven warrior received a frosty reception, while Halbrand initiated a bone-snapping brawl with some stuck-up Númenórean’s that came close to Game of Thrones territory – hence the episode’s 15 certificate!
What will we learn about the Stranger now that he’s befriended Harfoot family the Brandyfoots? And who the heck is the orc leader Adar? Could one of them be Sauron in disguise, hoping to deceive our heroes?
