We have a little over a month until this year’s Xbox Series X Black Friday deals land, in what are likely to be the biggest discounts on Microsoft consoles all year. While the deals won’t be available just yet, we can tell you when they’re likely to start appearing, tips on when to buy, and also what we think will be the best Black Friday Xbox Series X deals this year.
Last year we didn’t see many good Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S Black Friday deals, as both Microsoft and other retailers were experiencing stock shortages on their new consoles. However, this year, while a PS5 can still be hard to find, the current generation of Xbox is regularly in stock at retailers. All this means there’s a good chance both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S will be discounted in the Black Friday deals on November 26 and Cyber Monday on November 28.
Alongside the consoles, we’ll likely see discounts on all things Xbox. During Amazon Prime Day back in July, we didn’t see reductions on consoles themselves, but some of the best hardware deals of the week were on Xbox Series X and Series S accessories and the best Xbox Series X headsets. Using that as a guide, we can predict there will be similar savings to this year.
If you know what console you want, now may be an excellent time to pick one up, as Microsoft’s boss Phil Spencer won’t rule out an Xbox price hike in the future. The official Xbox series X Black Friday deals and Xbox Series S discounts won’t appear until we’re closer to November. Though, Amazon and other retailers are likely to start offering savings through October on the run-up to the big day. That’s not to say you can’t find a good price on a console today, however. If you can’t wait until Black Friday, these are the best places to look for a cheap Xbox Series X|S.

When will the best Xbox Series X Black Friday deals start in 2022?
We’re expecting the best Xbox Series X Black Friday deals to appear during the week leading up to November 26. Traditionally, that’s when the deepest discounts on gaming hardware are unveiled. Those same deals tend to also run again on Cyber Monday if stock is still available.
Though, every year retailers are beginning their discounts earlier and earlier. You will likely start seeing some tempting offers as early as the first week of October. While we wouldn’t recommend jumping on the first offer you see, we will start sharing any offers we spot and saying whether we think it’s a good price.
Should you wait for a Xbox Series X Black Friday deal?
If you’re looking to buy a console or a bundle outright, we’d recommend you wait and see what deals appear in October. If you’d rather pay for the console bit by bit, however, we’d recommend looking at Xbox All Access. The scheme lets you pick up an Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S and pay for it over two years. also comes bundled with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, so, as part of the price, you’re getting a huge catalogue of games to play.
Last year it didn’t make sense to wait for an Xbox Series X black Friday deal, both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S were in short supply, so if you saw them in stock it made sense to buy it at retail price. During the Black Friday period a lot more people are trying to purchase in-demand products, like current gen consoles, so stock runs out quickly.
However, the new generation of Xbox launched nearly two years ago. A lot of people have managed to get their hands on the console at this point so demand is lower and stock is less likely to run out. Plus, with more stock available, there is a much greater chance that retailers will discount the console. This may be a great opportunity to get a new Xbox Series X|S at a good price.

Where will the best Xbox Series X Black Friday deals be?
We’ll be scouring the internet for the best Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S Black Friday deals, so do bookmark this page and keep checking back for a list of the best deals we’ve found. But if you’d like to do some research yourself there are a few key places to look at first.
US:
Amazon (opens in new tab) leads against most retailers regarding the variety of stock, with many first and third-party peripherals on sale. It also offers good discounts to Prime members. Best Buy (opens in new tab) and Walmart (opens in new tab) have good bundle options but they can be a good bet if you have any gift cards or coupons that knock dollars off the price. Newegg (opens in new tab) often has stock when its competitors have run out and will compete on price.
UK:
In the UK, you’ll find your widest selection of Xbox stock on Amazon (opens in new tab), both in terms of first-party and third-party offerings. Though, a key reason to use it is next-day delivery, which it offers on many of its sales. Argos (opens in new tab) and Currys (opens in new tab) often have good bundles, and have stock even when larger retailers have run out. And John Lewis (opens in new tab) may not compete on price, but it offers excellent product warranties.
How good will this year’s Xbox Series X Black Friday deals be?
Last year, because of shortages of the current generation of Xbox consoles, we didn’t see good deals on the hardware itself. Although some of the best Xbox Series X games and accessories did get reduced. This year, however, during Prime day and more recently, we’ve seen some great discounts on refurbished consoles, hinting that the price on brand new machines may be ready to drop, too.
On Amazon US, refurbished Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles were both reduced by $50 during Prime Day. And, in the UK, you can trade in an Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch to get £140 knocked off an Xbox Series X’s RRP. So hopefully we’ll see discounts equally good this year, if not better.
What Xbox Series X Black Friday deals do we expect to see in 2022?
We’re expecting to see both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S Black Friday deals to include discounts on the consoles themselves. We also think we’ll see games, headsets, controllers and accessories to all get reduced, too.
If you already own one of this new generation of consoles, then this may be a good opportunity to look for Black Friday Xbox controller deals, as there could well be big discounts on the Xbox Wireless controller or the Xbox Elite Wirless Controller Series 2. The Series 2 was reduced to just $139.99 on Amzon in December last year, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it went even lower this year.
Something we recommend everyone look out for is reduced Xbox Game Pass membership. The subscription is becoming an essential purchase, especially as it includes day one releases of all new first-party Xbox games. Just take a look at all the new Xbox Series X games to whet your appetite.
